Amanda Counter CPM, LDEM
Amanda has been involved in birth work for 20 years. She started by serving friends and family as a doula, and eventually followed the call to be a midwife. She has a concrete knowledge of the physical and emotional aspects of birth, and the utmost respect for birth as a normal process unique to each person experiencing it. Every birth is beautiful in its own right and Amanda strives to meet you where you are with sensitivity, supporting your power to own your experience. Amanda is committed to making midwifery care accessible to anyone who desires it. She has supported clients in all settings and completed part of her internship at Shiphrah Birthing Home in the Philippines.
Amanda has been married to her hero for 26 years. She is a mother of four, and had three of her children at home. Amanda keeps current CPR-BLS and NRP Certifications. She is a graduate of the Midwives College of Utah with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Midwifery and is currently working towards her MPH at the Colorado School of Public Health. She is a NARM Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) licensed in the States of Utah (LDEM) and Wyoming (LM) and is an active member of the Utah Midwives Organization. Amanda is an approved preceptor for NARM and Midwives College of Utah.
